Rivers and nature

Heritage and gardens

Visit Château des Milandes, once home to Josephine Baker, with inside a museum about her life and a spectacular bird-of-prey show in the gardens.
At Château de Castelnaud knight tournaments and siege machines bring medieval life to the present day. Stroll through the elegant gardens of Marqueyssac, famous for their sculpted boxwood and sweeping views across the Dordogne Valley. Explore the prehistoric caves near Les Eyzies, where early human art and carvings reveal the region’s deep past.

The Dordogne is full of family fun, from riverside adventures to tree-top thrills. Spend the day at Aquapark Bergerac, where kids can jump across a floating obstacle course. Airparc Périgord in Le Bugue offers tree-climbing and zip-lines over the Dordogne River. Parc Le Bournat, a 1900-style theme park in Le Bugue has animals, rides and crafts that bring history to life. Try Karting Périgord near Le Bugue for a burst of adrenaline or feed the friendly wild boars at Mortemart Farm: a fun, authentic experience for all ages!

For the kids

In summer, every village comes alive with its night markets where long picnic tables fill the square and everyone dines together in open air. There´s live music, local wine and food trucks serving from magret de canard to crêpes Suzette.
The evening often ends with dancing and laughter.
